Modus Operandi - or, how I provide a seamless service with your help
Here's how it works
If you want something made up for you, choose your colour, gemstone, material, wire - you tell me what you would like and I will come back to you with a design/ drawing/ quotation etc.
If the piece you want is sold, or you want a variation - in gemstone, wire etc - I will make another similar piece for you - you will have to wait a short while, but usually no more than two weeks - it will be worth the wait for your exquisite, one of a kind, statement piece -won't it???
Two pieces will never be absolutely alike as they are handcrafted - and sometimes wire has a mind of its own! and will not go where I put it (dang!), or I may not get the exact bead/ gemstone you specify. In this case I may use a substitute but will check with you first.
If you have gemstones, nuggets, cabochons, beads that you wish set, mail them to me and I will design pieces of jewellery for you incorporating them.
If you have vintage/ broken pieces of jewellery that you want salvaged, send them to me - I will try to repair them or use the elements in other pieces of new jewellery - grandma's broken locket may end up as a brooch or be wire wrapped as a pendant in a necklace, or incorporated into a wire bib necklace, or embedded in Polymer clay or resin - the possibilities are endless - I will ask your permission before making any lasting changes, though - you may prefer it in a box at the back of your cupboard to hand down to your daughter!
Shipping: I will ship to anywhere in the world - the cost will be added to the price of the jewellery.
I charge a flat rate of £2.70 for goods upto £9.99, £3.70 for goods from £10 to 24.99, and £6.70 for goods costing over £25. International orders will cost more - unfortunately Paypal is unable to discriminate and charge you the extra, so I will have to invoice you - goods will only be dispatched once paid for in full. Postage to the USA/ Australia costs £12, but I will check with the post office and give you the correct price - I do not seek to make a profit on postage.
Repair Policy: I am happy to repair the jewellery I made for you if for some reason it breaks, free of charge, provided it has been treated with care and not misused. The customer bears the cost of the postage both ways
Payment: - PAYPAL preferred.
If you do not have a PAYPAL account, a cheque in GBP is acceptable and the items will be shipped once the cheque is cleared - usually 5 working days. However, PAYPAL allows you to make payments safely without risk, and allows usage as a 'guest', using a credit card on most occasions.
Made with a much loved, left behind earring - one of the pair was lost
The earring became the centre piece assembled with vintage elements bought from ebay - an inexpensive way to keep hold of left over items at the bottom of the jewellery drawer - we all have them - the trick is in the assembly - each extra element has to be 'cut and pasted' to suit and all held securely on heavy duty chain/ rings so that it does not meet the same fate as the original inspiration piece - the lost earring!
