The Lady of Shalott
Inspired by Tennyson’s tragic heroine and Monet’s dreamy water gardens, this intricately hand-embroidered necklace is a romantic tribute to art, longing, and a touch of rebellion. Created over 3–4 weeks using a technique called “painting with beads,” the piece features Czech and Japanese seed beads in impressionist swirls of dusky pinks, watery blues, and soft greens – the colours she might have seen reflected in her enchanted mirror.
A Vintaj bronze pendant forms the centrepiece – a wistful face framed in golden curls and crowned with a delicate pearl drop. The back is finished with pretty enamelled Chinese beads, and the necklace closes with a floral gold-tone toggle clasp.
Designed to sit close to the neck, this lightweight yet richly detailed piece whispers poetry with every turn of the head – a wearable tribute to beauty, story, and the art of escape.
