Once More Unto the Breach, Dear Friends.....

Dear readers, it is done now  - my third show at Raintree, my own personal little battle of Agincourt, and hard work it was too. This time around, Mike cheered me on from afar as he stayed in the UK, but I was ably supported by my friends Aishwarya, Rachel, Sheela, my sister in law Anu and my mother, and I am exceedingly grateful to them for all their help.

As usual, the main fly in the ointment was my inability to accept credit cards - card readers have only just become available in the UK but unfortunately the UK readers cannot be used internationally. Alas, India has a way to go to catch up, although it won't be long now.
I had a great time meeting a whole load of people and will have to keep the stories till I get back to the UK.
Here are a couple of pictures from the event.

One of the ladies who bought a necklace from the exhibition did me the honor of wearing it the next day to a party - the inimitable Rubi Chakravarti. She is a "Theatre Afficianado, International Stand-Up Comedian & Performing Artist, Actor, Columnist, Writer, Corporate Nuturer and Activist. Internationally Validated by BBC as one of the Top 100 Women to have made a difference in the year 2014 and selected by Salt magazine as among the 100 of the greatest female change agents of 2015".

I enjoyed looking at that picture especially as the necklace is called 'Forever in Blue Jeans' .

As soon as the exhibition was done with, I flew out to Jaipur to buy some supplies which is why the blog is out later that usual. I am due to go back to Bangalore tomorrow and have spent the day combing the back streets of the Chameliwala market where the jewellery wholesalers live and work. I will tell you all about it later when I get back t the UK at the end of next week.

Until them, have a great week and I'll catch you next week, perhaps a bit later than usual,

Oh, I wish you had asked me about the credit card thing. We have something called Bijilipay here (Its common in chennai and I am sure it must be available in Bangalore too) which is a POS machine that you can rent for a day or two or even for extended periods. It accepts different cards and the amount is directly credited into your account. I used it once and found it very helpful

Congrats! Looks like you had a wonderful time. My cousin wore the necklace she bought at your exhibition. Will send you a picture. btw, I had a different problem at a jewelry studio where my credit card couldn't be processed even though I called the company and they said everything was fine at their end. The machine just didn't work.

It was so much fun - I always enjoy when people share my passion for my jewellery - a bit like proud mums when people kiss their babies!
Would love to see your pics and your cousin's too - do share
Neena

I'm Neena Shilvock,  and I'm crazily addicted to jewellery. I've been designing and making quirky and interesting statement necklaces for the last eight years and my passion hasn't cooled off one little bit - in fact it has got worse, such that I'm even dreaming jewellery.
I'd love to get to know kindred spirits like you, so drop me a line and I'll get back to you, and who knows, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship. Write to me at jewellerybycaprilicious(at)gmail.com

About us

I am very proud of my body of work and what people say about it, here are some of the compliments I have received

'Neena, the necklace has just arrived & I can't find enough of the right words to do it justice. Somehow "stunning" "gorgeous" "exquisite" don't seem to fit the bill! It's definitely a statement piece ..................'                 LJ

'Wow received my jewellery to day. Love them, so beautifully presented in a pretty green box and many thanks for gift of earrings, lovely,
thanks :-)'         AT

'Hi Neena, just been busy all week at a folk festival.....my Mme Butterfly drew lots of admiration, as did my Ice Queen and someone leaned over the counter in a store of healing and crystals and exclaimed at my beautiful lapis. I so enjoy wearing my pieces and the attention they receive. '          LB

' Neena, I can't describe how delighted I am with Scherezade - she is simply breathtaking.'  EW
